Halloween at Preschool
Yesterday Collin's preschool class celebrated Halloween with a little trick or treating at the park. Collin decided to wear his knight costume from the previous year. He looked adorable! The kids walked down to the park from preschool and the moms were there to hand out candy to the class.
The moms are ready as the gang approaches...
I don't know that Collin totally got what was going on
but obviously he didn't mind when he realized there was candy involved!
October Misc
The kids and I love to go for walks, and we especially love that we live near some neighborhoods with animals. The kids think its like going to the zoo (except that its free and the location is more convenient!). Collin was pretty brave to get that close to the horses...especially since he is only as tall as their legs.
They were calling this animal "the rock star chicken".
You can't have a walk without a walking stick!
Eden was able to forgo the walking stick in favor of the stroller.

Prescott
Dave and I took the kids to Prescott for a quick vacation this past weekend. We love it there. It has a small town feel, but there is plenty to do. We spend alot of time outdoors while we are there, and of course there are a few trips down to the hotel's pool for the kids.
One of the days we were there, we went down to the court house, where they always seem to have something going on (arts and crafts fairs, dance performances, etc.). The kids loved running around in the grass, and Eden loved exploring a bit herself.
Brynn and Collin found a lady bug, and spent half an hour playing with it. They were sad when it was time to leave, and they had to say good bye to their temporary pet.
The sadness didn't last too long though, when they realized they were going to get to go swimming back at the hotel. They did an impromptu dance to celebrate their excitement.
On our last night there, the kids snuggled up on the mattress on the floor and enjoyed a bit of Elmo before heading off to bed.

Right Now...
I'm trying not to laugh as Collin runs in circles and does a little dance until his shorts fall to his ankles and then he falls to the floor in hysterics. This has been going on for the past 10 minutes. Poor kid is so skinny that his shorts/pants either fit him in the waist and are too short, or they fit in the length but fall off of him frequently. Why not use a belt then? Two words: potty training.
I'm also watching Eden practicing her newly acquired skill of standing on her own and taking a few steps. She's our 3rd child, but I still get as excited to watch her learn and hit each milestone as I did with our other 2 kids.
OK, now Collin just decided he wants to go outside and started pushing my stomach while telling me so. He paused long enough to tell me "Mom, your belly is pushy." Gee thanks. At least my pants don't randomly fall off of me. Good thing he also told me this morning that I look beautiful in the shirt I'm wearing. Yes, he is usually sweet.
So much for "quiet time".
