Hives

This is what Eden is doing right now. Poor girl is so tired after an "eventful" evening and night. You may notice the red splotches on her face. Those are hives that came as a result of an allergic reaction to something. During dinner (at a local pizza place for Collin's birthday), we noticed her neck was really red and her ear was extremely swollen. Upon further inspection, we found that she had hives all over her neck, shoulders, and upper back and took her to urgent care. That and a follow-up visit with a pediatrician today determined that she probably has an allergy to penicillin. However, they said it could also be anything she ate in the 3 hours before the hives occurred or something else she was exposed to. Fun stuff. We spent the rest of the evening getting medicine, getting the twin bed in her room ready for me to sleep in, etc. The late night, a middle of the night feeding, a wake up call to give her more medicine, and a 5:30am start to her day, and she and I are both pretty exhausted today. I am so glad that the reaction wasn't more serious.

(About 10 minutes after I posted this, Eden woke up from her nap. When I went to get her, her eyes were swollen half shut and the hives were covering most of her body. Dave and I freaked out a bit, but after a call to the dr's, we were assured she was OK. She's been getting lots of extra cuddles from us though!)
