Christmas with Dave's Family

We celebrated Christmas a few days early with Dave's family. Everyone has such busy schedules these days, so it is always fun to see everyone. The weather was gorgeous, so we all spent awhile hanging out in Cheryl (Dave's mom) and Jerry's backyard. And what a back yard it is! Our kids love playing out in all their grass, and Cheryl has done an amazing job with the gardening and decorating.

Eden loved the freedom of running around:

Collin and Brynn had fun playing soccer and baseball with Uncle Jace and Aunt Kim and Aunt Cyndi:

Jace, Jerry, Dave, Collin, Eden, and Cyn:
See what I mean about the backyard? They have a big tiki hut, a pond with fish, beautiful flowers, citrus trees, a pool...
Cheryl just put this together that in their side yard:
Then we had a delicious dinner (Cheryl is also a really good cook!). Afterwards, we exchanged some gifts. Among the gifts were two books for the kids. They were recordable books, so when the kids open them to read them, it has Cheryl's voice reading the book to them page by page. What a great gift idea, especially since they love books and they also love having their Grandma Cheryl read them book after book whenever she comes over.
It was a fun evening, and a great way to kick off the Christmas celebrations!
